Doing yoga—it isn’t so much of a stretch! Whether you’re brand new to yoga or, like some of us, have practiced on and off for years and would like to get back into it, why not take a free Introduction to Yoga class this summer? The 1½-hour workshops, appropriate for all experience levels, provide a short overview of the philosophy of yoga along with some basic postures, emphasizing proper positioning, alignment and breathing. You’ll also learn some stress-reduction techniques. The Art of Living, in collaboration with Sacramento County libraries, Borders bookstores and other organizations, is offering the series at libraries and other venues around town. Just show up in comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat.
