Vegan Bake Sale To Help Out Haiti

Here's a sweet way to help those in need in earthquake-ravaged Haiti: Buy your weekend treats at a bake sale hosted by Sugar Plum Vegan Bakery. Haven’t tried the bakery's out-of-this-world cupcakes and whoopie pies, available at the Sac Natural Foods Co-op? Well, here's your chance—and for a great cause. You also can bake up some of your own vegan goodies and donate them to the effort. The bake sale takes place this Saturday, Jan. 23 at the soon-to-be-open Sugar Plum Vegan Cafe at 2315 K St. in midtown (former site of True Love Coffeehouse) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit Food for Life Global’s Haiti relief efforts.
