Need a little inspiration for you holiday decorating? Like to see how some of Sacramento’s best interior designers do it up for Christmas? Have you always wanted to take a peek inside one of the stunning East Sacramento homes?
You have your chance this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30–Dec. 2 at the 39th Annual Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour in East Sacramento. The tour features five homes in the Fab 40s neighborhood, all within walking distance for most people. Each house’s décor was done by a different local interior and floral designer. Participating designers include East Sac Florist, Kerrie Kelly Design Lab and Lumens Light + Living.
Tickets are $30 and proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Parish School in Sacramento. After the tour, be sure to check out the boutique and cafe, located at the school at 39th and H streets.
Hours are Friday 11 a.m.–8 p.m. (But note, the boutique and cafe don’t open until 12:30 p.m. due to school dismissal.) Saturday 10 a.m. 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For years, going on this tour was a holiday tradition for me. I went on Sundays, but I imagine going late on Friday afternoon and seeing the houses lit up at night, would be spectacular. One thing to note if you do go on Sunday: the California International Marathon—which takes runners through East Sac—will be winding down as the tour is getting started, so be aware of traffic, runners and road closures. Take a look at the CIM road closure schedule here, plan accordingly, and you will be fine.
