Put Your Best Paw Forward

Posted on October 11

Ever wanted to walk the catwalk? Well, I’ve come across an event that’s not even close, but it is a walk and it helps out cats. Does that count?

On Sunday, Oct. 14, The Coalition for Community Cats is holding the Eighth Annual National Feral Cat Day 5k Walkathon: Put Your Best Paw Forward. The 3.1-mile walk starts at the California Automobile Museum at 2200 Front St. in Sacramento. Registration is $20 (or, you can turn in $20 worth of pledges), but there are prizes for the people who raise the most pledges. The money benefits our local feral cats, which are basically homeless cats that are too wild to be kept as pets. These cats need your help, badly, and you’ll be helping the Coalition’s feral cat spay/neuter program, which is huge. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.
