Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue is a wonderful local organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabbing and finding homes for homeless and abandoned golden retriever and golden retriever/Labrador mixes throughout Northern California.

On Saturday, Sept. 29 the organization is hosting its big yearly fundraiser, Kibble & Bids, an evening of food, wine, beer, live and silent auctions, live music and more. Oh, and goldens. Yes, upon arriving at the event, now in its 12th year, you’ll be greeted by Golden Greeters (easily the biggest draw of the evening). Kibble & Bids: Vintage Gold is being held at the California Auto Museum, so that means you’ll be able to check out the museum’s great collection of cars. (I saw some of these at the State Fair this past July, and they were fun! And I am not what you’d call a car buff.)

The fun starts at 6 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here. The California Auto Museum is located at 2200 Front St. in Sacramento.
