Food for Thought: “Food, Inc.” Airs Tonight on Channel 6

Posted on April 21

Curious about where your food comes from? Then tune in to KVIE Channel 6 tonight at 10 p.m. for Food, Inc., the Academy Award-nominated documentary about what we eat, how (much) it is processed, and the toll this is taking on our nation’s health and environment. The provocative film takes a long, hard look at our industrialized food system, addressing such issues as foodborne illness, pesticides, factory farming, worker safety, government subsidies and the obesity epidemic, and includes experts Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto) and Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation). Just be prepared: Some of what you’ll see could be a bit hard to stomach.
