Wine of the Week: Turkovich 2011 Viognier

Posted on March 18

Viognier is my all-time favorite white varietal, and I recently found a knockout 2011 version crafted by Turkovich Family Wines in Yolo County. This lush, seductive white offers honeyed, flowery melon aromas and luscious tropical flavors (primarily pineapple and banana), with an abundance of vanilla and nice dose of oak on the finish. Powerful and intense, this is a Viognier that can be appreciated on its own or paired with  your favorite cheese platter, mild Indian curries, hot crab dip or crab cakes, and Easter ham.
