Try It: Rubicon’s Hot Wings

Posted on June 17, 2013

Sacramento’s warm afternoons and balmy nights create the perfect environment for outdoor dining and beer-quaffing. When I want to include my pooch in a casual al fresco dining experience, I head to Rubicon Brewing Company’s sidewalk patio, a congenial, shaded midtown spot where you can stretch your legs, savor a freshly-brewed cold ale and tackle a basket of the establishment’s messy, scrumptious hot wings. Tossed in a sweetish red sauce that packs just the right amount of heat, the satisfyingly oily wings are paired with crunchy carrot and celery sticks and a soothing side of blue cheese dressing. Wash these babies down with a pint of the brewery’s crisp Monkey Knife Fight pale ale or the smooth, delectable Amber ale.
