First Bite: Aji Japanese Bistro

Posted on January 14, 2014

El Dorado Hills is home to an intriguing new restaurant. Aji Japanese Bistro, located in the bustling Town Center, showcases an enticing selection of Japanese street food and fusion dishes, sushi, and traditional items. If you’re ready to break out of your Dynamite Roll and chicken teriyaki habit, make the trek to Aji for a plateful of braised short bibs, bathed in an enoki-shiitake mushroom demi-glace with kabocha mashed potatoes; the grilled shishito peppers with spicy ponzu sauce, or a helping of taro chips. There is also an interesting array of maki and temaki sushi; and your little ones will enjoy the kids’ portion of karaage (fried chicken) and a grilled cheese sandwich (on Japanese toast, of course).
