Wine of the Week: Szabo Vineyards 2010 Sauvignon Blanc

Posted on June 11

My palate was completely re-energized this week after enjoying a generous glass (or two) of Szabo Vineyards’ ultra-refreshing, deliciously crisp 2010 Sauvignon Blanc. The small Nevada City winery has crafted an intensely citrusy white, whose assertive, dominating pink grapefruit flavor explodes in your mouth. A restrained and elegant grapefruit- tropical fragrance carries the citrus character into the nose, creating a distinctive and vivacious wine drinking experience. I look forward to pairing this fun, snappy Sauvignon Blanc with light shellfish dishes, Caesar salad, grilled Ahi tuna and goat cheese.
