Try it: Magpie Cafe's Sandwiches

Posted on May 15

There’s lots of good reasons to visit cheery Magpie Cafe - its vibrantly fresh, seasonally-inspired cuisine, yummy baked goods and brisk, warm service all combine to make this one of midtown’s most pleasing dining options. But one of my favorite excuses for popping into the teeny cafe is to wolf down one of its daily sandwiches. Creative and hearty, Magpie’s sandwiches are a great lunch choice when you’re time crunched but still seeking quality fare. We stopped in recently and relished the lovely open-faced smoked trout sandwich, paired with Meyer lemon-pepper cream cheese, capers and fresh dill; and the succulent, meaty pulled pork sandwich, flanked by a scoop of the cafe’s signature purple potato salad.
