Magpie's Terrific Louis

Posted on September 11

I can always count on Magpie for ebulliently fresh, appealing fare. On a warm afternoon last week, I tucked into the kitchen’s dazzling shrimp and crab Louis, one of the loveliest salads I have ever encountered.  A bed of carefully arranged lettuce leaves was adorned with yellow tomatoes and intriguingly pickled green beans, then topped with a generous mound of shellfish and embellished with hard boiled eggs and kalamata olives. At $16.95, it may have been the priciest salad I’ve ordered this year, but it was well worth the expense.
